A Little Word About Blogging

Blogging is great isn't it? You get to write about what you want, connect with other people of the same interests as you that you probably would never ever meet without your blog, get to work with companies (and even make a few pounds out of it if you're lucky enough), increase your writing and photography skill and so much more.

I went through a phase of getting crap about blogging (its the only word that really describes it) and I felt like deleting my blog, forgetting about all the above things. But, in the last few months, I have loved blogging so very much. I have met so many more people, worked with a company, made some more friends and been getting a lot more satisfied with the content I have been uploading.

So, the aim of this quick post is to remind all my fellow bloggers out there to just keep on blogging - please don't give up. Whether you have a small audience like mine or a huge audience, or if you only upload once a month or post daily - never give up. Where are you going to get if you give up?

This post is very different to the content I usually upload but it was a bit of a spur of the moment thing. Let me know if you'd like to see more of these type of posts. I am going on holiday from tomorrow until Monday, so I won't be posting but I will probably have a few holiday posts when I get back! xx

Packing Tips

I am a little overexcited for my holiday to Iceland on Thursday with school. As packing can be a bit of a frustrating and boring process, I thought I would give a few packing tips that I have learnt over the years.

1. Put on music
Spotify is great for music (one of my two obsessions at the moment, the other is Pretty Little Liars). They're have playlists for the most random things, even packing. Music makes packing a little more entertaining.

2. Make a list
A reasonable list, don't over-pack. This seems like a very obvious one but it makes life so much easier.

3. Roll
Roll your clothing, it is so logical - I don't know why I don't do it with my usual clothes in my drawers. Rolling deceases space, and stops creasing. What else do you need from a method of packing clothing?

4. Use the extra spaces
Put your socks inside your shoes, your pants inside your bras (this also keeps the shape of the bra).

4. Travel Sets
You can find these in almost any drugstore/Boots/Superdrug store. I found one in Savers for just £1. These are great because you can put your shampoo and conditioners in a well sized bottle instead of carrying it all around with you and have it taking up a load of space.

I will hopefully have a few holiday posts when I get back so keep an eye out!

Winged Eyeliner

This post is totally out of my comfort zone, but today I thought I would do a quick little post telling you how I do my eyeliner. I have been through a few phases of wearing eyeliner constantly in the past, so it feel so comfortable with all the practice I've had.

I used to struggle a lot with my eyeliner, its really tricky. In this post, I'm gong to be talking you through my eyeliner routine.

I would firstly like to apologise for the pictures of my eyes, it was a bad skincare day (my moisturiser has run out!)

I firstly line the top of my eyes to give it a bit of a base for me to work with.

Next, I take my eyeliner and do a little flick in the direction of the end of my eyebrow.

Next, I take a little line a little higher than the flick so that it looks a little like this.

I then colour that in. To finish off I try and colour my eyeliner closer to my eyelashes and apply some mascara.

I hope you enjoyed this little mid week post. Make sure to let me know if you want to see more of this type of post. I will be back tomorrow with an extra special post so keep a look out!

Spring Has Sprung - DIY

I'm back again with yet another Spring post. In todays Spring Has Sprung post, I am going to be giving you DIY inspiration for this season.

Yarn Ornaments-
I tried this DIY out twice and failed twice. With my first method, I forgot to add vaseline and on the second, the sugar water didn't really work. Anyway, I have a great tutorial for you to try out here which you can try out and hopefully do a little better than me.

Bulb/Milkbottle Vase-
I saw this on pinterest and thought it was the cutest thing, so creative. I have these little milkbottles that I put some flowers in and they turned out really well.

Mason Jar Lights-
I took a picture of fairy lights in a jar as inspiration. I put some of my own fairy lights in a jar and then lit it up and I love it. Something else you could do is paint little things on the mason jars (mine didn't turn out too good).

This post is part of a little blogger series I'm taking part in called the "secret blogger project 2015" run by teen bloggers Emily ,Rebekka and Charlotte. Spring Has Sprung - Hair and Make-Up

Today's post is the second in the Spring Has Sprung Series, which is Spring Hair and Make-Up. In today's post, I'm going to be showing you one hairstyle and some Spring essential make-up products.

Hair
I have been wearing this hairstyle to school quite a lot recently, and its the braided bun. Just tie your hair up in a pony tail, make a plait out of it, tie the bottom, twist the plait around itself and secure it with a hair bobble. Its really simple and a little more unique than just a plain bun.

Make-up
Some of my essentials are-
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation- This light coverage foundation has been a favourite of mine for a while now and I think its perfect for spring. With the warmer weather coming, lighter foundations are needed, but you can still build the coverage up with this foundation which is great.
Sleek Oh So Special Eyeshadow Palette- I think this is the eyeshadow palette which is perfect for Spring. The light pinks on the right of the palette, then go into browns and then blue purple and black. I could live off this eyeshadow palette this Spring.
Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner- I feel like I have raved about this eyeliner for way too long on this blog but it is the perfect eyeliner. Its basically just a felt tip pen for your eyes, which comes at a very reasonable price. I want to start lining my eyes a little more this Spring so this eyeliner will probably be getting quite a bit of use.
Collection Seashell Single Eyeshadow- This is an eyeshadow I've had for about 2 years (is that bad?) and I just love. Collection do the perfect little single eyeshadows and this plain white one is great for school.

This is the end of this little post, but make sure to keep a eye out tomorrow for the last in the Spring Has Sprung trilogy.

Spring Has Sprung - Outfit and Activities

To celebrate the first days of Spring, I will be posting a trilogy series this weekend. From hair to snacks to DIY's will be coming your way on this blog this weekend.
Today's post is outfit and activities inspiration for Spring.

Today's the first the a series I hope to do seasonally. This series is a trilogy posts at the start of each season to give some inspiration and ideas for the upcoming season. Today's post is a outfit and activities post, so I hope you enjoy.

Outfits
For some fashion staples, this season I'm probably going to be living in patterns. My main key pieces I have at the moment is my stipy monochrome dress, stripy navy crop top, monochrome leggins and floral dress.

Something else I will probably be wearing a lot is my burgundy cropped rib jumper. This is great as it's cropped but still gives the warmth of a jumper.

For shoes, I will be wearing a lot of my converse and riding style boots. Two of my favourite pairs of shoes.

Some activity ideas I have for you guys are-
  • Baking. Baking is great as you can do it out of your cupboard, get free recipies on line and make something (hopefully) you can eat. Fun and food. Its a win win situation.
  • Make a Collage. I decided to let a bit of my creative streak go and make a bit of a collage. I got some nature-ie pictures (because I feel that thats what spring is all about) from an old magazine and stick them in a little collage on a piece of paper. You can do this for style inspiration, friends, memories etc.
  • Go for a walk. Spring brings (almost) summer weather which means going outside a bit more. I love going for beach walks. If your feeling extra outgoing, take a bit of a picnic with you!

I hope you enjoyed reading this little post. Make sure to keep an eye out for two more of these type of posts this weekend.

Sisterhood of the World of Bloggers Awards

I think this is my third or fourth "award" post I have done here on this blog, as I have been tagged by the lovely Rebekka to do the Sisterhood of the World of Bloggers Awards. So, I hope you enjoy this post and that you learn a little more about me, and discover some more bloggers.

The rules:

1. Thank and link the blogger who nominated you
2. Answer the 10 questions your nominator has provided
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers
4. Create 10 questions for your nominees and notify them on their nomination

Rebekkas Questions:

1. If you had to wear one lipstick and one blush for the rest of your life, what would they be?
I'm not too keen on blush (I feel like a bit of a clown when I wear it!), so I would probably go without but when it comes to lipstick it would probably be my Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in 18 as its buildable from a subtle rosy shade to a dark statement lipstick.
2. Who is your biggest blogging inspiration?
Probably Hannah Maggs as her writing and design and everything is just so perfect!
3.What would be your dream holiday- location, people,activities.. whatever!
Probably with either one or three friends and a trip to about 10 places around the world. Probably go to New York, Japan, Australia and a few more!
4.What type of blog posts do you enjoy to read the most? And what kind of posts do you like to write yourself the most?
I love to read posts that are either DIY or posts I can learn a lot from and get inspiration from. I love writing these type of "awards" posts and any post thats a little out of my comfort zone.
5. Recommend 5 smaller blogs for me to read that you really love! Hopefully ones I won't have heard of!
Go check who I tagged!
6.If you had to choose one song to be the soundtrack to your life forever, what would you pick?
Cucurucu by Nick Mulvey. This song has been a favourite of mine for a while now and I don't think I will get sick of it for a very long time.
7. What makes you unique?
I think lots of things make everyone unique - whether they decide to show it or not. I think my terrible sarcasm and blogging makes me unique at the moment - but that could change.
8.What would be your ideal job?
This is a tricky one, but I think possibly a graphic designer or something along the lines of psychology would be so interesting. I would also love love love to be a full time blogger, but I doubt that would be possible!
9. What's one thing everyone else seems to love but you're not particularly fond of?
Chocolate. I know, I'm odd - I don't like chocolate. Everyone raves about it and I just don't like it very much at all.10. What's the best book you've ever read?
I go through fases of reading and then not reading a book for a year or so but at the moment I think the best book I've ever read has got to be The Fault in Our Stars (totally unoriginal, I know!).

I tag:
(Sorry if you've already done the tag! And sorry it's only five, not ten)

~Anyone else you fancies answering my questions can do the tag if you'd like!~

Your questions:
1. If you could live at any point in time, when would it be?
2. What's your holy grail beauty product?
3. What's your go to hairstyle?
4. What are you excited for right now in your life?
5. What's your best blogging tip that you could give your readers?
6. If you could be-friend any fictional character/tv/film character who would it be and why?
7. How tall are you?
8. Favourite male and female names right now?
9. If you could visit anywhere you'd live to, where would it be?
10. What's one instagram account I should follow?

Sorry for my 1-2 week break from blogging, I got the flu and it sucked and then I was rather busy with a few things but I hope you enjoyed this quick little post, and I have something extra special coming this weekend so make sure to keep an eye out! xx

MAC Myth Review

Hey guys, todays' post is going to be a little review of a lipstick I have been loving lately. Around about a month or two ago, I purchased the MAC Myth lipstick. I had been wanting to try out a nude lipstick for a while and I also really fancied purchasing my first MAC lipstick.

The picture makes the lipstick look a little more brown  than it actually is, its more of a pinky nude than the picture makes it seem. I was a little bit rushed to get the lipstick, so I didn't make sure I got the right shade to fit my complexion. I would recommend to anyone, when buying a nude lip product, make sure it fits your complexion.

When I first tried it on once I was home, it was a little odd for me. I hadn't tried a nude lip before and it got some getting used to. But now, I love this. The application is pretty easy, but a lip liner would be handy. This lipstick looks great with natural looks, or quite daring eye looks with a subtle lip like this.
This is a collab with Dalal from Monochrome Daisies. She's also talking about her favourite lipstick so go and have a look and leave a lovely comment for her! xx

A Monochrome Outfit

Today's post is going to be a little different but I wanted to try something new out. I thought I would talk you through a very much loved outfit of mine lately.

Dress - New Look £9.99
I fell in love with this dress when I first saw it. It's perfect for all seasons, tights and boots for the colder months and strappy tan sandals in the warmer months.

Tights - New Look £2.99
Classic black tights, an essential in any wardrobe

Boots - tReds £14.99
tReds were kind enough to send me these gorgeous boots, and I love them. I think the cut out make them wearable all though out the year (like the dress) and the gold details add a little bit extra to this outfit.

I hope you enjoyed this little post, make sure to let me know if you'd like me to do more of these type of posts.
