Simple Summer Make-Up

Bare with me, I'm tired and worn out after today so this isn't going to be a big written post. But I thought I would put this make-up look up after having the pictures on my camera for some time.

I used a bunch of my favourites in this look to give a very simple, almost a "no make-up" make-up look type of thing.

For the face I used- (in order of application)

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturizer
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation
17 Stay Time Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

For my eyes I used- (in order of application)
Natural Collection Single Eyeshadow in Seashell
Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Collection No Clumps Mascara

And on my lips I put my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 05

And here is a weird posey picture of my with the make-up (I don't know, I never feel confident to show my face on the internet!).

And that is the look, I'm sorry this is short, but I don't have the energy for a big chunky post. I will be back tomorrow though with hopefully a non-beauty post, as there's been a load recently.

How Much is my Face Worth?

I have seen this post floating around the blogger-sphere, and I thought I'd give it a try.

If you don't know already, the "How Much is my Face Worth?" is a post where you find out how much money you put on your face everyday. I really enjoy reading these posts as I think it's really interesting.

So, how much is my face worth? Here's a list of the products I used this morning-

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser (I'm using a tester at the moment, but here the original price) £34.00
Benefits Oxygen Wow Foundation £26.50
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
Rimmel Match Perfection Powder £3.99
Natural Collection Seashell Eyeshadow £1.99
Collection No Clumps Mascara £2.99
Rimmel Kate Lipstick £5.49

All of that is £79.15, wow. I use almost £80 of make-up and half of it is drugstore make-up!

Let me know if you'd like to see a post a £20 make-up face challenge sort of post.

AA Skincare Seaweed and Aloe Eye Gel Review

Eyecare. And no, I'm not talking about glasses and contact lenses. I'm talking about the skin around your eyes. This skin is so much thinner than the rest of our face, but yet I never seem to read very much about its care?

AA Skincare kindly sent me their Seaweed and Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel. As well as refreshing your eyes, it also removes eye make-up. But the use doesn't stop with your eyes, you can also use it on other parts of the body if you feel like it.

It is awesome for Summer. I myself suffer with hayfever (which is a big pain in the butt) and with red, itchy eyes, the gel cools it down. Also works for sunburn too, just smooth a little over your redness, and let it cool. I would really recommend this product for sunburning hayfever sufferers, like me.

What I love most about this is that everything is natural. The product itself is made with pure essential oils and herbal extracts. Unlike quite a few brands out there nowadays, AA Skincare use ingredients that make sense, no funny business.

You can check out AA Skincare's website here to have a look around at their products.

That's it for now folks, but I will attempting a post everyday next week, to make up for my lack of posts this week.

My Quiet Corner

Whenever I feel like a little read, internet browse, or a little blogging I like to visit my "Quiet Corner". Rather cheesy name, but it's a corner of my room, and it's rather quiet whenever my radio or Spotify isn't playing!

It's a DIY sofa, to glorify it a little. Basically, a toy box with lots of blankets and cushions put on top in the hope for comfiness, and also to make a bit of a nicer home for my unicorn (my mental age is a mixture between a pigtailed 5 year old and a Downton Abbey loving 90 year old). I've put up some pictures beside the curtain to add a little decor.

Behind the curtain we have a few magazines and my photo album for whenever I feel like turning my eyes away from my laptop or phone screen.

Do you have a "quiet corner" or a place you like to visit for some alone time?

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer Review

The tragic that is the fact that Collection discontinued my Lasting Perfection Concealer shade happened. When you're as ghostly white as me, finding a shade of make-up that is even relatively close to your face shade is a miracle.

So, I went on a search to find the lightest concealer in Boots. And it was a surprising success. Turns out Seventeen (a brand by Boots) understand the people like me and have made a concealer shade for us.
Admittedly it doesn't have the same amazing thickness and coverage as Collection Lasting Perfection, but it's a good enough substitute. It's a very light concealer, but does actually give quite a bit of coverage. It sort of feels rather greasy/shiny on, it's hard to describe.

I have to put a bit extra of my Stay Matte powder with a smaller powder brush to cover that up. But after that I'm good to go.

Anyway, to conclude, if anyone it looking for a light concealer, here it is. Take it or leave it, it's got its pros and cons but it's good enough for me.

Clinique Moisture Surge Review + Catch-up

Yes, the glory that is Clinique moisturizers. I'm unsure if you know of my love of Clinique moisturizers, but I love them to pieces (except for the price). This is a little tester one, as Clinique are very kind when you buy a few things from them, they like to send a little gift or two.

I had heard a lot about this moisturizer, whilst I was using the Dramatically Different moisturizer from Clinique. I was tempted to purchase it then a there, but I put it off as I doubted it would be any different to the one I was using then.

When I received this in the post, I was straight to trying it out. It's a little gel like, in a good way. And it smooths on the skin perfectly and disappeares straight away, no need for that waiting and waving your arms by your face in the hope to make your moisturizer dry quicker. I find that most Clinique moisturizers blend in, in a flash.
I have extremely dry skin, so this is perfect hence the name Moisture Surge. I apply it every morning before my make-up and I get no dry patches etc. any time during the day. The only downside is the price, but I get that's what you get from Clinique - a high price but good value.

Overall I totally recommend this to anyone with a few extra coins in their pocket.

Catch-up time-
I haven't posted in 14 days, which I am sorry for, blame exams and my birthday (I am now fifteen, and ready for another year filled with exams). My last one is on Monday (yay!) and then I promise more posts will be coming your way as I have lots of ideas and pictures to put up.

I really want to put up more reviews, so let me know if their helpful, and if there are any products you'd like me to try out, let me know in the comments or contact me etc. (you know the drill).

Until next time,

Emily
