5 Ways to Make Your Room a Little More Christmassy - Blogmas Day 4

For today's Blogmas post, I thought I would do a little post on different ways to make your room look a little more Christmassy, without going full on out with the decorations.

1. Fairy Lights
Fairy lights can be hung up all year round, but they make your room look extra Christmassy at Christmas. These ones I got from Poundland, and I honestly can say that there are no faults with them. So just pop into your local pound/dollar store and pick up some fairy lights to make your room that extra Christmassy.

2. Hang Up Your Cards
I get a few Christmas cards around/before Christmas, and I just use them as a decoration. They're really cute to just put up on your dressing table and they obviously add much more of a Christmas feel to your room.

3. Pin Up Some Christmas Pictures
Whether its printed off pictures, magazine pictures or pictures from old Christmas cards - just cut them out and pin them to your cork board. Here I have just a Christmas calender type of thing, and some Autumn/Winter pictures pinned to my chalkboard and I feel like it adds a bit more of a seasonal theme to the room.

4. Display More Christmas Colours
It could be just a red and green file, or a red soft toy, or Christmassy nail varnishes -  just display more Christmas colours. It gives your room a feel of Christmas, without even noticing it. Maybe try some red, green and white blankets and pillows too.

5. Candles
Light some Christmas candles, they'll make your room smell and look Christmassy - 2 senses in one. If you're like me and arn't aloud to light candles in your room, then get some cheap LED candles (I got mine from Poundland) and just place them in your room or in your own DIY candle holder which you can see here to how to make.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I didn't really want to go full on out with the Christmas stuff this year as I find it really depressing taking everything down after Christmas but I thought these things could help you to make your room feel a little more Christmassy. Talk to you in tomorrows post.

My November Favourites - Blogmas Day 3

So todays post is about my November favourites, but as it is Blogmas - I have added a bit more of Christmas into it.

Beauty-
If you read my last haul, you will know that I have bought the Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in 18. This has grown to be a bit love of mine this month, I have also loved mixing it with my Rimmel London Kate Lipstick in 05. This gives a light berry lips that I really like. I am thinking of doing a full review of this lipstick and a few others, so if you would like to see one, then make sure to tell me below.
Later in the month of November, I went into lush and bought the Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser. Although I haven't had this long, I really really love it. I'm not going to go on for too long about it, as I am going to do a full review once I have used it quite a bit.
A nail varnish that for some reason hasn't featured in very many of my favourites this year, and a nail varnish I keep coming back to is the Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish in Pomegranet. This is an all year round colour in my opinion, and I have almost run out of it. The Barrm M Gelly Nail Varnish's are something I would recommend to anyone.
My last beauty favourite is this Seventeen lip gloss. I got this in a set for Christmas last year, and they're products are something that I have been coming back to throughout the year. This one has been a favourite this month as it is almost a perfect match for my Rimmel lipstick.

Random-
Netlix is probably my very favourite things, and a series I have been loving this month is Gossip Girl. I decided to re-watch it this month, after watching it all earlier this year and its just as good as the first time. For anyone looking for something to watch on Netflix, then go and watch Gossip Girl!
Yet again, burgundy has been a favourite this month. I wrote a post on this last year so you can go and read about my love for burgundy there.
Fairy lights are always a favourite of mine. I got some from Pounland and hey just look really sweet and Christmassy. I will be mentioning more about Christmas decorating soon in Blogmas!

I am really enjoying writing these Blogmas posts, are you enjoying reading them too?

Little Things I Love About Christmas - Blogmas Day 2

So, the second instalment of Blogmas is my favourite little things I love about Christmas. Yesterdays post seemed quite successful, so there may be another DIY before the end of the month :)

1. Decorations
I am one that just likes any kind of decorations in general. Christmas decorations are my favourite though. The outdoor light decorations, the little snow globes around the room, the fairy lights scattered all over every window sill. I generally just love how they make everywhere so Christmassy.

2. How Happy People Are
I generally think people are more happy around Christmas time, or is that just me? A study by the New York Times say that Christmas is one of the/the happiest days of the year. And who doesn't like happiness?

3. Wishing for Snow
One of the things I have only ever seen once was snow on Christmas day. I have always wished that it would snow on Christmas day, just to make it really festive like it is in the movies!

4. Christmas Songs/Films
These are my favourite. Just listening to Christmas songs, or watching Christmas films with family is something I really enjoy and I don't think it would be Christmas without these.

So those four were some of the little things I love about Christmas. I hope you enjoyed reading, and I will talk to you in tomorrows post.

DIY Christmas Themed Candle Holder - Blogmas Day 1

For my first blogmas post, I have a DIY Christmas Themed Candle Holder. This is really easy, and you can mix it up to make it more to your style. I am not a very crafty or DIY person and if I can do it, I'm sure you can.

You Will Need-

  • Glitter
  • Hairspray (make sure not in liquid form)
  • Febreez (optional) (make sure not in liquid form)
  • Jar
  • Stickers

Step One-

The first step is to stick your stickers inside of your jar. I stuck mine randomly all over the jar.

Step Two-

Next you're either going to take your Febreez or your hairspray and spray inside the jar all over. This will give a base for the glitter to stick.

Step Three-

Now put a lot of your glitter inside the jar. Then roll the jar around, spreading the glitter all over the jar. If the jar has a lid, Im sure putting the lid on and shaking it will do the job.

Step Four-

Now hairspray the jar again over the glitter, this will keep the glitter in place.

Step 5-

Wait. I left mine overnight and it had dried.

Ways to personalise your candle holder-

  • Peel the stickers off, to leave shapes for the light of the candle to shine through. I wasn't able to do this as my glitter wasn't fine enough, but if your glitter is fine then this is an option for you.
  • Different colour glitter
  • Different shaped stickers
  • Different shaped jars

I hope your like this start to Blogmas! I really enjoyed doing this DIY. Remember to follow, comment and all that jazz and I will talk to you tomorrow :)
