Lets Keep to Those Resolutions!

Have you ever kept to a new years resolution? For a whole year? Because I haven't, and I am going to be telling you a few tips on how to keep to those resolutions.

You need to remind yourself -

There are a few ways to remind yourself of those resolutions. Reminding yourself in the morning is a great way to remember throughout the day. So how about pin them up on a pin board beside your bed? If its one of the first things you see in the morning, you will remember.

Another way to remind yourself is to keep it on your phone. If you're anything like me, you probably spend half your day on your phone (and that isn't really helping that getting fitter resultion..). How about take a picture of your new years resolutions and have it as your lock/home screen? Maybe have your resolution as the label of one of your alarms?

Just make sure that your resolution follows you around, whether its on your phone or noted down everyday in your diary.

You also need to make time

Unless you're really lucky, you're probably quite a busy person. You need to make time for your resolution.

Whether it is to get fitter - make half an hour when you get home to do some cardio, and note it in your diary (or however else you organise yourself).

Whether it is to get organised - make 5 minutes before going to school/work to tidy your room, this may mean getting up that little bit sooner though.

Whether it is to be happier - make some time on the weekend to spend time with people who make you happy.

Whether it is to.. well you get the gist.

Lastly you can't make any excuses

This is probably the main reason people give up on their resolutions (well for me anyway). Maybe if you want to be healthier, you can't let yourself grab yourself that bag of Haribos because you've had a bad day. Maybe if you want to stop worrying, you can't let yourself worry about that day because it was important. Maybe if you want to get good grades, you can't go out tonight because it's just one night.

I hope you enjoyed this little spontaneous post, I thoroughly enjoyed writing it. I hope its in time for when you're starting to give up, as it is time for me! I hope you do these little tips if you're struggling!

This is a really lovely post, my new years resolutions usually only last up to a month (if that) so I didn't make any specific ones this year!

  2. The last thing you wrote, about making excuses, is so relevant to me because I make them all the time, especially when I am trying to be healthier. haha Nice post :)

  3. Great post!! Definitely agree with the whole making time for your resolutions. It's one thing to want something but another to actually achieve it!!
